PRODUCT CODE: HC1440
Concentrated neutral solution to disperse black iron oxide and debris in central heating systems.
A concentrated neutral solution for dispersing the build up of suspended particles of black iron oxide and similar debris in water circulation central heating systems.
Non-corrosive to steel: Formulated to be non-corrosive to steel (commonly used in central heating systems), Sludge Remover ensures that the metal components of the system remain intact and free from the damaging effects of corrosion.
Removes cold spots: Cold spots can lead to uneven heating, causing some areas to be warmer than others. The neutral solution effectively breaks down and disperses buildup, allowing for even heat distribution throughout the system.
Re-suspends heavy black iron oxide and other debris: Particles can settle at the bottom of radiators and pipes, causing blockages and reducing heat transfer efficiency. Sludge Remover re-suspends these heavy particles, allowing them to be filtered out through standard system filtration methods or flushed out during regular maintenance cycles.
To clean a central heating system in accordance with BS7593:2019, Sludge Remover should be circulated with all valves open for a minimum period of one hour.
After dosing the system should be run up to warm and circulated until all dead and cold spots are eliminated. This may take days for a badly contaminated system.
No neutralisation procedure is required.
After cleaning, the system should be drained and thoroughly flushed though all drain points.
Refill and treat with a corrosion inhibitor.
Dose Rate: 500ml of Sludge Remover is sufficient to treat a typical domestic central heating system of up to ten radiators. For larger systems an additional bottle will be required. Overdosing does not present a problem.
Open vented systems: Dose though the fill and expansion system – sufficient water must be drained from the system to ensure that all of the product enters the circulating part of the system.
Sealed systems: If the system is empty, add to any convenient point before filling; if full, dose through any convenient access point.
