Meet the team: Ben McDonald

Ben McDonald | Senior Team Leader (Production)

Job Role & Responsibilities:

As Senior Team Leader it is my job to oversee the bulk and aerosol departments. It is my responsibility to ensure the team work effectively together to keep the lines running, look ahead and plan for upcoming jobs, and to meet client deadlines. I also make sure high standards are maintained across every job.

Before Liquid Science I was…

…a supervisor at another chemical manufacturing company. I have been in the industry for 14 years. While I trialled a role in banking for 3 months, I much prefer being on my feet, and being hands on.

What do you enjoy most about being part of the Liquid Science team?

The team morale – even though it is a hardworking and demanding job, everyone works together well and has good banter with each other throughout the week which makes it enjoyable.

Describe your job in three words…

Challenging. Productive. Enjoyable.

What keeps you motivated?

Firstly having a young family is my main drive and secondly, being very meticulous; I strive to keep customers happy by producing quality products.

Tell us something we don’t know about you…

I can eat a happy meal in 37 seconds (drink including). Also, I’m an FA Qualified Coach.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A footballer, up until I was 14 years old when I realised I wasn’t going to make it.

Love Island, favourite time of the year, and also Hell’s Kitchen!

What have you enjoyed most about 2024 so far?

The Euro’s, Love Island and a few family holidays – in that order!
