Laboratory Technician
Liquid Science are seeking to recruit a full time Laboratory Technician to join our busy team.

Based in Hapton, Burnley, our purpose-built premises house our laboratory, blending, production, accounts, and sales on one site.
Job role
This is a new position in a busy laboratory and will cover all aspects of quality control, development, sample preparation, technical service and interfacing with sales department and customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Quality Control
• Quality Control of Finished goods and Raw Materials.
• Addressing Finished Product and Raw Material issues through corrective / preventative actions.
• Liaising with manufacturing and production departments to ensure smooth operation of planned jobs.
Research & Development
• Liaising with Sales personnel and Customers to discuss new and projects and general enquires.
• Assessment of Development Products to ensure suitability.
• Inputting New formulations / Raw Materials / Packaging into the Product Development System to produce cost models.
• Interaction with Raw Material Suppliers and Packaging suppliers.
Technical Services
• Supporting Customers’ needs and internal requests from Sales.
• Producing development samples and testing of samples.
• Liaising with other Technical Staff to support MSDS / CLP requirements.
• Conversing with Customers, Suppliers and Sales personnel for various requests on information relating to products and services.
• ISO9001 and upcoming ISO14001 / 45001 systems – Auditing / process involvement
Your background
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
• Ideally studied and gained qualifications in science-based subjects at HND / Degree or qualified by experience.
• Good experience of using Microsoft Systems (Word / Excel / Outlook)
• Prior experience in an industrial Laboratory environment is preferred but not essential.
• Prior knowledge / experience with MSDS and CLP and Regulatory affairs is favourable but not essential.
• Willing to be ‘Hands-on’ within a factory environment.
• Good communication skills.

Salary range £26,000 – £30,000

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30-17.00 with some potential for overtime shifts too
